INSTALLABLE DEVICE DRIVERS AND APPLICATIONS =========================================== Many of the software device drivers and applications that were preinstalled on your computer can also be found in their uninstalled form in subdirectories under C:\DRIVERS. These subdirectories have descriptive names indicating the type of driver or application. This software is provided in case it needs to be reinstalled or if an IT professional needs to recreate a disk image from "scratch". If you feel that there is a possibility that you will use these drivers for a disk image rebuild at some point in the future, it is recommended that you back up the C:\Drivers folder to a more permanent location (CD-ROM or network server) before continuing. Installable software located in these subdirectories comes in two different forms. The software may be in the form of an installation program (.EXE) or an installable component (.INF). You'll need to look in each of the subdirectories to determine which form the particular software is in. Installation programs usually have names like SETUP.EXE or INSTALL.EXE. The same or updated drivers may be available at www.gd-computing.com.
